# Amfelt

A custom design shared between a marketing site and a Go + HTMX web app.

Amfelt is a data platform that reads your databases and files, records what's in them, and then builds and loads the data platform your reports and AI tools rely on. The website uses a custom theme built on Hinode. The same theme also powers Amfelt's web app, so the marketing site and the product share one design system.

The web app extends Hinode with [Go](https://go.dev/) and [HTMX](https://htmx.org/). Hugo renders the static chrome: layout, navigation, buttons, icons, and placeholders for dynamic content. A Go server returns HTML fragments that HTMX swaps into place. Each dynamic component pairs a Hugo shortcode, which emits the outer shell and the HTMX attributes, with a Go template that renders the fragment inside it. The fragments reuse the icons Hugo registered at build time, so there is a single icon pipeline. Read more about this approach in Amfelt's blog post [We chose HTMX over React for our app](https://amfelt.com/blog/htmx-instead-of-react/).
